President's Update: February 2025
With Charter Meeting 2025 underway, Professor Deborah McNamara, RCSI President, provides an update on the programme so far. From the NOCA Conference on Tuesday to the launch of the Guide to Good Practice for Robotic Surgery Governance in Ireland yesterday evening - it has been a busy few days.
While we normally reserve our Spotlight On... series for our surgeons, given the week that is in it we have decided to shine a light on the charter granted by King George III on 11 February 1784, which established the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
This month we bring you news of RCSI's new membership exam centre in Sabah, Malaysia.
We also have updates on a number of achievements including the NSRSC award for Outstanding Achievement in Clinical Trial Activity as well as an Honorary Membership of the Académie Nationale de Médecine de France.
Plus we are are pleased to share details of the updated Green Theatre Checklist, which will be launched later this month.
