We are pleased to advise that certain relevant organisations recognise the importance of healthcare professionals maintaining their professional memberships. In support of this, measures are in place to help cover the cost of annual membership fees, reducing the financial burden on individuals. 

Depending on your specific circumstances, you may be eligible to reclaim these fees. Please refer to the information below for guidance on how to proceed with a claim. 

Fellows and Members Practicing in the Republic of Ireland  
  • Consultants can claim back their subscription fee from their hospital's Continuing Medical Education (CME) fund. Professional Membership fees can be claimed under Category 3.  
  • NCHDs can also claim back their subscription fee under the Training Supports Scheme. Professional Membership fees can be claimed under Category 1.  
  • For Fellows and Members in private practice, tax relief can be claimed on certain professional expenses, including professional subscriptions once requirements are deemed to be met.  
Fellows and Members Practicing in the United Kingdom 
As RCSI is a HMRC approved (List 3) professional body, RCSI Fellows and Members based in the UK can claim tax relief on certain professional expenses, including membership fees once requirements are deemed to be met. In order to claim the relief, please liaise with HMRC directly. 

Fellows and Members Practicing Internationally 
Fellows and Members practising internationally are encouraged to liaise directly with the relevant authorities or organisations in their country of practice for guidance tailored to their specific situation.

How to Access Receipts 
Receipts can be downloaded directly from the Fellows and Members Portal or you can submit a request to fellows@rcsi.com.  

2025 Annual Membership 
If you have yet to make payment of your 2025 annual membership, you can make payment via the Fellows and Members Portal
