Alumni Spotlight - A Trailblazer in Nursing and Research
Ms Sakina Yaser graduated with a MSc in Nursing degree from RCSI Medical University of Bahrain on June 18, 2025.
Before doing so, on May 29, 2025, Ms Yaser discussed and presented her MSc thesis with the Scientific and Executive Committee of Bahrain International Conference in Family Medicine and Primary Health Care 2025, which she described it as one of her best experiences presenting it in front of qualified worldwide experts.
On May 13, 2025, Ms Yaser presented it at RCSI Medical University of Bahrain International Nurses Day, where she provided valuable insight into contemporary nursing practice with her research led presentation.
On May 12, 2025, Ms Yaser, alongside Dr Ali-Rose Sisk (Lecturer in Nursing) had the honour of presenting her MSc thesis at Keele University’s International Nurse Day Conference. Her research was shared with an international audience of nursing professionals, further solidifying her standing as a rising leader in the nursing community. She was also an expert speaker in the International Midwives day seminar on May 24, 2025, where she presented her thesis.
Earlier, on April 24, 2025, Ms Yaser’s MSc thesis/dissertation was one of only six research posters accepted for presentation at Bahrain’s International Women Conference, out of hundreds submitted. This recognition speaks volumes about the depth and significance of her research, reflecting her commitment to advancing nursing practice and education.
In addition to these academic milestones, Ms Yaser continues to contribute to the nursing community through writing. On February 26, 2025, she had the honour of publishing two articles with the Bahrain Nursing & Midwifery Society, offering valuable insights and expertise on various aspects of nursing practice. These publications serve as an example of her ongoing commitment to improving nursing education and practice in Bahrain.
Ms Yaser’s advocacy for vulnerable populations also stands out. In December 2023, she published a poignant article discussing the challenges faced by vulnerable pregnant women in Gaza. Her efforts to raise awareness of global health issues highlight her compassion and dedication to making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Looking forward, Ms Yaser continues to be an active participant in international forums. Her involvement in the upcoming UAEIMC 2025 exemplifies her dedication to fostering global collaboration and learning within the nursing and healthcare sectors.
Ms Yaser reflects on her incredible journey with deep gratitude: "Years of hope, hard work, and perseverance led to this moment. It wasn't always easy, but every challenge shaped me. Grateful for the journey, proud of the growth, and excited for what's ahead. This is more than an RCSI MSc degree, it's a dream realized. I am lucky and proud to be an RCSI Medical University of Bahrain student and an alumna. Thank you, RCSI Alumni Family, distinguished faculty, and esteemed professors. To the ones who inspired me with this quote: All birds find shelter during rain, but the eagle avoids the rain by flying above the clouds. Your words stayed with me — and every time it rained, I chose to fly higher. Today, I stand proud that I made it, thank you."
